Carbolite Gero Ashing Furnace OAF 11/1

Consult circuit diagram (section 7.0) to identify fuse types.

Refer to section 8.1 for the list of correct fuses.

Check the following fuses for failure

Is an electrician available to check the internal circuits?

Replace failed fuses with the correct type.

Wear an anti-static wrist strap

Avoid any possibility of damage by static electricity

Separate the controller from the base by removing screws

Ease apart the two lugs at the side

Grip the instrument and withdraw it from its sleeve

Push in the replacement controller

Remove soot deposits as mentioned in section 3.3

Clean the furnace outer surface with a damp cloth

Ensure no water enters the interior of the case or chamber

Avoid cleaning with organic solvents

Check if the controller and/or thermocouple require recalibration after prolonged use

Perform a quick check using an independent thermocouple and temperature indicator

Record findings from the temperature check

Disconnect the furnace from the supply

Note the thermocouple connections

Verify thermocouple and cable color coding

Disconnect the thermocouple from its terminal block

Lift the furnace door to the open position

Remove the door cover from the plug carrier assembly

Remove the old door plug by sliding it upwards out of its carrier

Slide the new plug into the carrier assembly ensuring it is the correct way up

Ensure that the ventilation is good when first heating the furnace after replacement
