Schedule regular cleaning programme for all surfaces and recesses

Implement cleaning programme to avoid dust build-ups of more than 5 mm in depth

Measure surface temperature at the coupling between the gearbox and motor

Measure surface temperature at points most shielded from motor’s fan ventilation

Is the maximum surface temperature within 75 K (90 K for W 110 gearbox) above ambient temperature?

Check the condition of the previously installed heat sensor

Place a suitable container under the drain plug

Remove the filler and drain plugs

Wait for a few minutes to ensure all the oil has drained out

Thoroughly clean the drain plug magnet (if fitted)

Fit a new seal and refit the drain plug

Fill gearbox with oil to the midpoint of the sight glass, or to the reference notch on the dipstick, or until oil starts to flow out of the level hole

Check the oil level according to the tables provided in the 'LUBRICATION' section of the manual

Is the oil level within the specified range?

Check for signs of lubricant leaks near the gearbox

Identify the cause of anomalies, if any

Make necessary repairs if anomalies were found

Switch off power to the gearbox and ensure it is out of service.

Take precautions against accidental power switch-on or unexpected movement.

Eliminate residual gas or dust from the environment.

Disconnect power to the machine and secure all switches in the OFF position.

Secure disconnecting switches with personal devices (e.g., padlocks).

Ensure surfaces have cooled before commencing work.

Are anti-burn safety gloves worn if necessary?

Activate all safety devices and inform nearby personnel.

Oil Leaks, External Seals and Gaskets Inspection

Inspect for oil leaks around the gearbox

Check external seals for integrity

Inspect gaskets for any signs of wear or damage

Identify the type of yellow oil level plug

Measure the oil level using the appropriate method for the identified plug type

Is the oil level within the acceptable range?

If the oil level is not within range, describe the corrective actions taken
