Bearing Assembly and Impeller Reinstallation
WARNING: Use a new gasket when reinstalling the bearing assembly to prevent injury or damage.
Bearing Assembly Preparation
Wipe the bearing bores clean and remove any rust or scale deposits with a fine emery cloth.
Insert the new wave spring into the rear bearing bore.
Lubricate the OD of the rear bearing with grease
Shaft Assembly Installation
Insert the shaft assembly into the housing and then install and tighten the retaining screws.
For cast iron bearing assemblies, install the coverplate on the housing.
Adapter Ring and Gasket Installation
Spring Type Coupler and Motor Reinstallation
Install the new coupler on the pump shaft
Ensure the coupler setscrew is seated in the shaft dimple
Lift the motor into position and attach the motor side coupler half
Ensure the coupler setscrew is seated in the shaft dimple on the motor side
Support the motor and install the four screws that hold the motor to the bearing assembly
Attach the conduit and power leads to the conduit box
Connect the power leads to the motor leads
Replace the conduit box cover
Motor Rotation Check
Seal Removal
Seal and Spring Removal
Remove the spring retainer and seal spring
Pry the compression ring off the seal boot
Seal Head Removal
Insert a standard screwdriver under the seal head and carefully pry the seal head off the shaft
Ensure the shaft sleeve is not scratched
Seal Seat and Gasket Removal
Use a small screwdriver to loosen and remove the seal seat and gasket
Seat Retainer Inspection
Bearing Assembly and Impeller Removal
WARNING: Relieve pressure in the pump body
Remove the eight capscrews holding the bearing assembly or adapter ring to the volute
Remove the bearing assembly
Prevent the impeller from turning
Remove the impeller nut, lockwasher, impeller, and adapter ring
Remove items from the bearing assembly
If cast iron bearing assembly, remove seal parts and coverplate
Remove seat and seat gasket from the coverplate
Remove the three screws holding the bearing cap in place
