If the seat retainer is in bad condition, pry it out and replace it with the new one provided in the seal kit

Tighten the setscrew over the dimple if applicable

Slide the coupler half on the shaft and tighten setscrews if applicable

Tighten the setscrew over the dimple if applicable

Slide the coupler half on the motor shaft without tightening setscrews if applicable

Place the new insert in the pump side coupler half

Carefully remove the old impeller

Wipe the bearing bores clean and remove any rust or scale deposits with a fine emery cloth.

Insert the new wave spring into the rear bearing bore.

Insert the shaft assembly into the housing and install and tighten the retaining screws.

For cast iron bearing assemblies, install the coverplate on the housing.

If used, install the adapter ring and gasket on the new bearing assembly.
