Bearing Assembly and Impeller Removal
WARNING: Relieve pressure in the pump body
Remove the eight capscrews
Remove the bearing assembly
Prevent the impeller from turning
Remove the impeller components
Remove items from the bearing assembly
If cast iron bearing assembly
If aluminum bearing assembly
Pull the shaft assembly from the bearing bracket

Inspect the pump parts
Replace any part that does not meet the required criteria
Cleaning of Pump Parts
Clean the pump parts in solvent to remove oil, grease, and dirt
Ensure machined surfaces are protected during cleaning to prevent equipment damage

Ensure the equipment is powered off and locked out
Remove the casing to access the impeller
Carefully remove the old impeller
Install the new impeller ensuring proper alignment
Reattach the casing securely

Ensure all system and pump components have cooled before handling
Isolation and Draining
Close the isolation valves
Is the system drained if no valves are installed?
Open the drain valve and wait until liquid stops flowing
Are the isolation valves sealing properly?
Post-Draining Steps
Leave the drain valve open until reassembly is complete
Elastomeric Type Coupler and Motor Reinstallation
Position the coupler half on the pump shaft
Select the pump shaft type and coupler size
If dimpled, ensure setscrew is positioned over the dimple and tightened
If keyed with size 4J, ensure shaft extends 0.25 in. past the coupler half flange face and setscrews are tightened
If keyed with size 5J, ensure shaft is flush with the coupler half flange face and setscrews are tightened
Position the coupler half on the motor shaft
Select the motor shaft type
If dimpled, ensure setscrew is positioned over the dimple and tightened
If keyed, ensure coupler half is slid onto the motor shaft without tightening setscrews
