Bearing Assembly and Impeller Reinstallation
WARNING: Use a new gasket when reinstalling the bearing assembly to prevent injury or damage.
Bearing Assembly Preparation
Wipe the bearing bores clean and remove any rust or scale deposits with a fine emery cloth.
Insert the new wave spring into the rear bearing bore.
Insert the shaft assembly into the housing and then install and tighten the retaining screws.
For cast iron bearing assemblies, did you install the coverplate on the housing?
Lubrication
Select the type of housing for lubrication instructions
Lubricate the OD of the rear bearing with grease.
Elastomeric Type Coupler and Motor Reinstallation
Position the coupler half on the pump shaft
Select the pump shaft type and coupler size
If dimpled shaft, ensure setscrew is positioned over the dimple and tightened
If keyed shaft with size 3J coupler, slide the coupler half on the shaft without tightening the setscrew
If keyed shaft with size 4J coupler, ensure shaft end extends 0.25 in. past the coupler half flange face and tighten setscrews
If keyed shaft with size 5J coupler, ensure shaft end is flush with the coupler half flange face and tighten setscrews
Position the coupler half on the motor shaft
Select the motor shaft type
If dimpled shaft, ensure setscrew is positioned over the dimple and tightened

Inspect the pump parts
Replace any part that does not meet the required criteria
Cleaning of Pump Parts
Clean the pump parts in solvent to remove oil, grease, and dirt
Ensure all parts are clean

Motor and Coupler Removal
Safety Precautions
Disconnect and lock out electrical power before installing or servicing the unit.
Motor Disconnection
Turn off and lock out power to the motor.
Remove the conduit box cover.
Disconnect the power leads from the motor leads.
Remove the conduit and power leads from the conduit box.
Motor Removal
Support the motor.
Spring Type Coupler and Motor Reinstallation
Install the new coupler on the pump shaft
Ensure the coupler setscrew is seated in the shaft dimple
Lift the motor into position and attach the motor side coupler half
Ensure the motor side coupler setscrew is seated in the shaft dimple
Support the motor and install the four screws that hold the motor to the bearing assembly
Attach the conduit and power leads to the conduit box
Connect the power leads to the motor leads
Replace the conduit box cover
Check for proper motor rotation (clockwise when viewed from the back of the motor)
