WARNING: Disconnect and lock out electrical power before installing or servicing the unit.

WARNING: Always disconnect and lock out power to the driver before you perform any installation or maintenance tasks. Failure to disconnect and lock out driver power will result in serious physical injury.

Turn off and lock out power to the motor.

Disconnect the power leads from the motor leads.

Remove the conduit and power leads from the conduit box.

Support the motor and then remove the four screws that hold the motor to the bearing assembly.

On pumps with spring type couplers, remove the motor side coupler half from the motor shaft.

Pull the motor off of the bearing assembly.

Position the coupler half on the pump shaft

Select the pump shaft type and coupler size

If dimpled, ensure setscrew is positioned over the dimple and tightened

If keyed with size 3J, slide coupler half on shaft without tightening setscrew

If keyed with size 4J, ensure shaft extends 0.25 in. past coupler half flange face and tighten setscrews

If keyed with size 5J, ensure shaft is flush with coupler half flange face and tighten setscrews

Position the coupler half on the motor shaft

If dimpled, ensure setscrew is positioned over the dimple and tightened

Remove the spring retainer and seal spring

Pry the compression ring off the seal boot

Insert a standard screwdriver under the seal head and carefully pry the seal head off the shaft

Use a small screwdriver to loosen and remove the seal seat and gasket

Is the seat retainer in good condition?

Replace any part that does not meet the required criteria

Clean the pump parts in solvent to remove oil, grease, and dirt

Protect machined surfaces while cleaning

WARNING: Use a new gasket when reinstalling the bearing assembly to prevent injury or damage.

Wipe the bearing bores clean and remove any rust or scale deposits with a fine emery cloth.

Insert the new wave spring into the rear bearing bore.

Insert the shaft assembly into the housing and install and tighten the retaining screws.

For cast iron bearing assemblies, install the coverplate on the housing.

If used, install the adapter ring and gasket on the new bearing assembly.
