If keyed shaft with size 3J coupler, slide the coupler half on the shaft without tightening the setscrew

If keyed shaft with size 4J coupler, ensure shaft end extends 0.25 in. past the coupler half flange face and tighten setscrews

Shift the bearing assembly slightly to allow pressurized water to escape.

Remove the eight capscrews that hold the bearing assembly or adapter ring to the volute.

Insert a long punch between the impeller vanes or use a strap wrench to prevent the impeller from turning.

Remove the impeller nut, lockwasher, impeller, and adapter ring.
