WARNING: Use a new gasket when reinstalling the bearing assembly

Remove any rust or scale deposits with a fine emery cloth

Insert the new wave spring into the rear bearing bore

Lubricate the OD of the rear bearing with grease

Insert the shaft assembly into the housing

Install and tighten the retaining screws

Replace any part that does not meet the required criteria

Clean the pump parts in solvent to remove oil, grease, and dirt

Ensure machined surfaces are protected during cleaning to prevent equipment damage

Check for the following conditions on the impeller

Ensure the equipment is powered off and locked out

Remove the casing to access the impeller

Carefully remove the worn impeller

Install the new impeller ensuring proper alignment

Position the coupler half on the pump shaft

Select the pump shaft type and coupler size

If dimpled shaft, ensure setscrew is positioned over the dimple and tightened

If keyed shaft with size 3J coupler, slide the coupler half on the shaft without tightening the setscrew

If keyed shaft with size 4J coupler, ensure shaft end extends 0.25 in. past the coupler half flange face and tighten setscrews

If keyed shaft with size 5J coupler, ensure shaft end is flush with the coupler half flange face and tighten setscrews

Position the coupler half on the motor shaft

If dimpled shaft, ensure setscrew is positioned over the dimple and tightened

Loosen the eight volute capscrews to relieve pressure in the pump body.

Shift the bearing assembly slightly to allow pressurized water to escape.

Remove the eight capscrews that hold the bearing assembly or adapter ring to the volute.

Insert a long punch between the impeller vanes or use a strap wrench to prevent the impeller from turning.

Remove the impeller nut, lockwasher, impeller, and adapter ring.
