Elastomeric Type Coupler and Motor Reinstallation
Position the coupler half on the pump shaft
Select the pump shaft type and coupler size
Tighten the setscrew over the dimple if applicable
Slide the coupler half on the shaft and tighten setscrews if applicable
Position the coupler half on the motor shaft
Select the motor shaft type
Tighten the setscrew over the dimple if applicable
Slide the coupler half on the motor shaft without tightening setscrews if applicable
Place the new insert in the pump side coupler half
Impeller Replacement
Inspection Criteria
Check for the following conditions on the impeller
Replacement Process
Ensure the pump is turned off and isolated from power supply
Remove the pump casing to access the impeller
Carefully remove the old impeller
Install the new impeller ensuring it is securely fitted
Reassemble the pump casing
Test the pump to ensure proper operation after replacement
Spring Type Coupler and Motor Reinstallation
Install the new coupler on the pump shaft
Ensure the coupler setscrew is seated in the shaft dimple
Lift the motor into position and attach the motor side coupler half
Ensure the coupler setscrew is seated in the shaft dimple on the motor side
Support the motor and install the four screws that hold the motor to the bearing assembly
Attach the conduit and power leads to the conduit box
Connect the power leads to the motor leads
Replace the conduit box cover
Motor Rotation Check
Seal Reinstallation
Preparation
Clean the shaft sleeve and seal seat recess
Polish the sleeve using crocus cloth without scratching or gouging
Seat Installation
Install the seat gasket and seat into the seal recess
Seal Head Installation
Lubricate the seal boot with soapy water
Slide the complete seal head over the shaft
Ensure the carbon ring contacts the seat and driver protrusions engage in the carbon notches
Motor and Coupler Removal
Safety Precautions
Disconnect and lock out electrical power before installing or servicing the unit.
Always disconnect and lock out power to the driver before performing any installation or maintenance tasks.
Motor Removal
Turn off and lock out power to the motor.
Remove the conduit box cover.
Disconnect the power leads from the motor leads.
Remove the conduit and power leads from the conduit box.
Support the motor and remove the four screws that hold the motor to the bearing assembly.
