Inspect the pump parts
Replace any part that does not meet the required criteria
Cleaning of Pump Parts
Ensure parts are clean
Clean the pump parts in solvent to remove oil, grease, and dirt
Protect machined surfaces while cleaning to prevent equipment damage
Seal Removal
Seal and Spring Removal
Remove the spring retainer and seal spring
Pry the compression ring off the seal boot
Seal Head Removal
Insert a standard screwdriver under the seal head and carefully pry the seal head off the shaft
Ensure the shaft sleeve is not scratched
Seal Seat and Gasket Removal
Use a small screwdriver to loosen and remove the seal seat and gasket

Bearing Assembly and Impeller Removal
WARNING: Pressure Release
Bearing Assembly Removal
Remove the eight capscrews that hold the bearing assembly or adapter ring to the volute.
Remove the bearing assembly.
Impeller Removal
Insert a long punch between the impeller vanes or grasp the impeller with a strap wrench to prevent the impeller from turning.
Remove the impeller nut, lockwasher, impeller, and adapter ring.

Pump Draining
Safety Precautions
Allow all system and pump components to cool before handling to prevent physical injury.
Isolation and Draining
Close the isolation valves on the suction and discharge sides of the pump. Drain the system if no valves are installed.
Is the liquid still flowing from the drain valve?
Leave the drain valve open until reassembly is complete.
Draining and Flushing
Drain the liquid from the piping.
Is it necessary to flush the pump?
Impeller Replacement
Inspection Criteria
Is the groove deeper than 1/16 in. (1.6 mm)?
Is the wear more than 1/32 in. (0.8 mm)?
Check for visible damage
Replacement Process
Remove the old impeller
Install the new impeller
Verify the new impeller is securely installed
