Wireless Module Battery Cell Replacement
CAUTION: Static sensitive components
Perform procedure using proper anti-static techniques in an EOS/ESD safe work area
Tools Required
Preparation
Is the unit turned off?
Disconnect the AC power adaptor and lay the pump on its front using a protective surface
Module Removal
Remove the screw located in the upper right hand corner of the wireless battery module
Depress the release mechanism and pull the module away from the back of the unit
Keypad Testing
Pre-Test Conditions
Ensure fluid and air temperature is 72°F ±2°F
Verify IV set compatibility with the pump
Keypad and Display Testing
Press the ON/OFF key to turn the unit on. Select any Care Area and Press OK.
Select any Drug Name and Press OK.
Press OK to select Primary Bag and Press OK to select mL/hr, then enter '4' and '6' using the keypad and observe the Rate mL/hr field to be '46'.
Press the CLEAR soft key and verify that the Rate mL/hr field is cleared to 0.
Enter '7', '8', and '9' using the keypad and observe the Rate mL/hr field to be '789'.
Downstream (Distal) Occlusion Sensor Testing
Initial Setup
Is this a standalone test or following the Upstream (Proximal) Occlusion Sensor Test?
Turn the Pump ON if this is a standalone test.
Program and Options Configuration
Press the Clear Program soft key, confirm by pressing YES.
Press the OPTIONS soft key, select BioMed Options, and enter the password.
Select Sensor Configuration and press OK.
Verify sensor settings
Press the EXIT soft key two times to return to the OPTIONS screen.
Battery Replacement
Preparation
Turn unit off, if on.
Disconnect the AC power adaptor and lay the pump on its front using a protective surface.
Battery Removal
Remove the screw located in the upper right-hand corner of the SIGMA Spectrum battery (if equipped).
Depress the release mechanism found in the top center portion of the battery and pull away from the back of the unit.
Battery Installation
Install the battery by placing the battery insulation tab over the terminals.
Gently slide the battery down the back of the case and insert the bottom of the battery into the pocket, then pivot it into the latch.
Pump Cleaning
Safety Precautions
Press STOP then OFF and unplug the AC power adaptor before cleaning.
Ensure not to sterilize by autoclaving, ETO gas or spraying.
Avoid immersing any part of the pump.
Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Avoid using phenolic-based cleaners or disinfectants.
Do not use spray or aerosol cleaners.
Use alcohol in a well-ventilated area.
Prevent shorting of the battery pack’s exposed terminals during cleaning.
