6.1 Precautions — Maintenance guidelines

Perform these tasks during maintenance and before reassembly

Ensure existing index markings are in line during reassembly

Insulation-test the reassembled drive unit

Test-run the reassembled pump before normal operation

Perform a ground (earth) continuity test after service

Check for liquid in the stator housing

Check the mechanical seal unit, the O-rings, and the cable entry, if liquid was found

Adjust the impeller if necessary

Replace support and main bearings

Ensure the oil fulfills FDA 172.878 (a) and viscosity close to VG32

Allow the chamber to de-pressurize before removal of the plug

Place the pump in a horizontal position and unscrew the oil plug

Does the pump have a hole marked 'oil out'?

Use the 'oil out' hole for drainage if available

Place a container under the pump and turn the pump
