Thrust Bearing Adjustment
Safety Precautions
Ensure any pressure in the chamber has been completely vented through the suction or discharge lines.
Ensure the driving means has been “locked out” or made non-operational.
Identify the liquid the pump has been handling and understand the necessary safety precautions.
Obtain and review the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid.
Thrust Bearing Adjustment
Loosen the two set screws in the outer face of the bearing housing and rotate the bearing housing clockwise until it cannot be turned anymore.
Make a mark on the outside diameter of the bearing housing and a corresponding mark on the pump bracket.
Make another mark on the pump bracket as per 'Table 4' on page 14 and rotate the bearing housing counter clockwise to align the marks.
Packing Removal and Installation
Safety Precautions
Ensure pressure in the chamber is completely vented through appropriate openings or connections.
Lock out or make non-operational the driving means to prevent starting during maintenance.
Identify the liquid the pump has been handling and understand necessary safety precautions.
Obtain and review the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid.
Removal: Packing
Insert brass or plastic bar through port opening between rotor teeth or lock coupling end of shaft to prevent turning.
Bend up tang of lockwasher and remove locknut and lockwasher from shaft using a spanner wrench.
Remove brass or plastic bar from port opening.
Pump Relubrication
Grease Bracket Fitting
Select the pump series for relubrication
Add grease to the bracket grease fitting until it comes out of the relief fitting on the opposite side of the bracket
Select the type of lubricant used for bracket fitting
Regrease Bearing Housing
Regrease the bearing housing until grease comes out of the shaft end lip seal
Select the type of grease used for bearing housing
Carbon Graphite Bushing Installation
Preparation
Ensure all necessary tools and materials are available (press, lubricant, chamfering tools).
Verify the bushing and mating part are clean and free of debris.
Standard Installation
Apply lubricant to the bushing and mating part.
Add a chamfer on the bushing and the mating part.
Use a press for installation.
Ensure the bushing is started straight.
Do not stop pressing operation until bushing is in proper position.

Install a pressure gauge in the discharge line
