United Metal Products Evaporative Cooler UMP-939 U

Remove the access panel and roof edge cover below the distributor.

Remove the inside hose from the end of the distributor pipe and the pipe support that attaches to the cooler roof.

Remove both distributor end caps.

Insert a 1/2" diameter x 6ft long rod or dowel into the distributor.

Secure the end of the dowel at the end opposite to where the distributor will be removed.

Rotate the distributor pipe down to break the seal and pull it horizontally out of the cooler.

Ensure the following items are available

Ensure the fan is turned off and locked out for safety

Clean the grease fitting to prevent contamination

Apply the recommended amount of grease

Was the shaft rotated to aid corrosion protection?

Wipe off any excess grease from the bearing housing

Install the sheave, pulley, and belt before setting the unit over the roof opening

Place the motor on the flat side of the adjustable motor base

Adjust motor base to assure proper belt tension

Is there significant scale build-up on the pads?

Are the pads scaled and plugged?

Hose down pads to clean away dirt and salt particles

Are the pads too blocked, reducing cooling efficiency and air delivery?

Remove outer access panels and internal media cover plate

Ensure the fan is turned off and locked out before starting lubrication.

Gather necessary tools and materials, including high quality NLGI No. 2 or 3 multipurpose ball bearing grease.

Clean the grease fitting to prevent contamination.

Apply the appropriate amount of grease to the bearing.

Rotate the shaft to distribute the grease evenly.
