ECM Components Replacement
Safety Precautions
Disconnect all electric power, including remote disconnects and discharge all motor start/run capacitors before servicing.
Verify with a CAT III or IV voltmeter rated per NFPA 70E that all capacitors have discharged.
Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the power cannot be inadvertently energized.
Pre-Replacement Guidelines
Wait five minutes after power removal to ensure ECM motors' capacitors are discharged.
Unplug the motor to ensure no power request.
Ensure initial hookups to the CSTI and standard adapter board are made with the power off.
Avoid making or removing connections to motors or adapter boards while power is ON.
Signal Strength Check
Setup
Power up a receiver with a 24 V transformer (user supplied)
Associate the sensor to a receiver of the same model intended for the job
Placement
Place the receiver at the desired location
Place or hold the sensor at the desired location
Testing Signal Strength
Press the Test button (S5) on the sensor
Observe the signal strength as indicated by LEDs and display
1 Weekly Unit Check
Safety Warning
Read and understand all safety warnings before proceeding with maintenance.
Disconnect all electrical power including remote disconnects.
Discharge all energy storing devices such as capacitors.
Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures.
Observe unit for any change in running condition and unusual noise.

Verify that no power is present with a voltmeter

Adjust fan wheel set screws if necessary
Refer to Table 44 for recommendations and note any adjustments made
Refrigerant Coils Cleaning
WARNING: Hazardous Pressures!
Disconnect all electrical power to the unit
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and use a soft brush to remove loose debris from both sides of the coil
Install a block-off to prevent spray from going through the coil and into a dry section of the unit and/or system ductwork
Mix a high-quality coil cleaning detergent with water according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Is the detergent strongly alkaline after mixing (PH 8.5 or higher)?
Place the mixed solution in a garden pump-up sprayer or high-pressure sprayer
If a high pressure sprayer is to be used
Maintain minimum nozzle spray angle of 15 degrees
