Quarter-Turn Fastener Replacement

Anchor Removal

Insert a 1/4"-wide screwdriver blade into the two small slots in the spring-loaded tab at the upper end of the anchor.

Check mark

Push in on the tab with the screwdriver and turn it 1/8 turn counterclockwise to latch the tab in its install/remove position.

Remove the screwdriver and push the anchor out towards the front.

Ensure the spring-loaded tab inside the anchor is latched in its install/remove position (1/8 turn counterclockwise).

Insert the anchor into its hole in the assembly.

Insert a 1/4"-wide screwdriver blade into the two small slots in the spring-loaded tab.

Push in on the tab with the screwdriver and turn it 1/8 turn clockwise to its anchored position.

Remove the projection assembly and install it on the projection mount tool (3.17)

Is the projection mount tool set up to match the diameter of the carriage rails (3/8")?

Carefully slide the X-axis turret motor belt off the large gear at the top of the turret

Locate the hole in the casting from the top side of the assembly

Remove the three screws holding the turret in place through the hole (FIGURE 3.8)

Ensure the loosened X-axis edge detector flag does not hit the edge detector and block turret rotation

Carefully pull the turret out of its top bearing
