Remove the front cover (3.2)

Pull the headrest drive belt to move the chinrest horizontal lead screw nut up against its limit nearest to the X-motor

Remove the four screws securing the chinrest assembly to the front cover assembly (FIGURE 3.10)

Lift the chinrest assembly away from the front cover assembly and remove the belt from the X-motor pulley

Maneuver the belt downward between the headrest pulley and the front cover assembly until the belt is free

Remove the patient switch jack from the patient switch connector located on the bottom left of the disk drive panel.

Lower the power table to its lowest position.

Using both hands, place your fingers along the bottom edge of the drive housing front panel.

Rotate the turret to expose two screws securing the Brightness Detector PCB to the detector assembly (FIGURE 3.9)

Ensure screws securing the detector housing to the turret are not loosened or removed

Disconnect the detector from its flex cable

Remove the two M3 screws exposed in step 2 (see FIGURE 3.9)

Remove the Projection Interconnect PCB (3.18)

Loosen the four M3 screws securing the carriage motor to the projection assembly

Remove the projection assembly, using all necessary precautions (3.17)

Cut any cable ties securing the carriage motor cable

Remove the four loosened M3 screws holding the motor in place, and remove the motor

Loosen the two M3 setscrews on the carriage motor pulley, and remove the pulley from the shaft

Install replacement cable tie(s) for the motor cable before reinstalling the projection assembly in the instrument
