Is the air filter maintenance indicator showing red?

Inspect the secondary element for the following issues

Has the secondary element been changed after every third primary element change or once a year?

Replace the secondary element if necessary

Ensure the secondary element is not reconnected once removed

Fluid Filter Element Replacement (100-150HP/75-112KW)

Ensure only Sullair replacement elements are used

Remove the old element and gasket using a strap wrench

Apply a light film of fluid to the new gasket

Hand-tighten new element until new gasket is seated in the gasket groove

Continue tightening element by hand an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn

Re-start the compressor and check for leaks

Fluid Filter Replacement (200-250HP/150-187KW)

Place a bright light inside the element to inspect for damage or leak holes.

Inspect all gaskets and gasket surfaces of the housing.

Were any faulty gaskets evident?

Correct the condition if faulty gaskets are evident.

Is the clean element to be stored for later use?

Store the clean element in a clean container if it is to be stored for later use.

Verify the following before starting the adjustment

Ensure shut-off valve is closed or slightly cracked open

Observe the line pressure gauge reading

Did the pressure switch contacts open at the desired unload (maximum) pressure?

Clean the return line strainers

Clean the compressor unit gear housing, bearing and shaft seal orifices

Change the fluid filter element
