Mark valve and head before disassembly to ensure proper reassembly

Measure and record length of extension of adjusting screw

Loosen locknut and back out adjusting screw until spring pressure is released

Remove bonnet, spring guide, spring and poppet from valve body

Clean and inspect all parts for wear or damage

Bracket and Bushing Installation

Install bracket bushing with groove at 12:00 o’clock position if applicable.

Install bracket and bushing assembly on the casing ensuring proper alignment with locating pin.

Coat rotor shaft assembly with light oil and insert into bracket bushing.

Coat idler pin with light oil and place idler and bushing on idler pin in head.

Head and Idler Assembly Installation

Install head and idler assembly on pump using a .010 to .015 inch thick head gasket.

Carefully remove valve cap, which covers adjusting screw.

Loosen locknut to unlock adjusting screw.

Install a pressure gauge in discharge line for actual adjusting operation.

Adjust pressure by turning the adjusting screw.

Record the maximum pressure shown on the gauge with discharge line closed and pump running.

Ensure all pressure in the chamber has been vented through appropriate openings or connections.

Lock out or make non-operational the driving means to prevent starting during maintenance.

Identify the liquid handled by the pump and understand necessary safety precautions.

Obtain and review the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid.

Remove any circulation tubing connected to the seal gland.

Loosen setscrews on the seal collar to free the cartridge seal from the shaft.

Remove the two gland nuts and slide the cartridge seal out through the bearing housing opening.

Ensure the pump is not running and all power to drive the pump is locked out

Loosen the two set screws in the outer face of the bearing housing

Rotate the bearing housing clockwise until it cannot be turned anymore

Mark the outside diameter of the bearing housing and the bearing bracket

Rotate the bearing housing counter clockwise past the mark by 6.09 in. (155 mm) or 9.09 in. (231 mm)
