Disconnect the pump from the power source

Remove any visible dirt and debris from the pump exterior

Clean the grease fittings to ensure they are not dirt covered

Is the pump exterior clean and free of grease and dirt?

Inspect the following for cleanliness and proper condition

Ensure pump, drive, and motor were properly aligned at assembly

Recheck alignment after pump unit installation

Check pump ports for proper position

Shim or move the pump as required

Ensure piping is not forced to line up with ports

Flexible Coupling Alignment Check

Remove any coupling guards or covers

Check alignment of coupling halves with a straightedge

Initial Bearing Housing Adjustment

Loosen the two set screws in the outer face of the bearing housing.

Rotate the bearing housing in a clockwise direction until it cannot be turned any more.

Make a mark on the outside diameter of the bearing housing and a corresponding mark on the pump bracket.

Make another mark on the pump bracket per 'Table 4' on page 14.

Final Bearing Housing Adjustment

Rotate the bearing housing in a counter clockwise direction until the mark on the outside diameter of the bearing housing lines up with the second mark on the pump bracket.

If possible, check end clearance with feeler gauge between idler and rotor faces.

Ensure the pump is turned off and isolated from the power source.

Gather necessary tools and materials, including Light Refrigeration Oil and a container for old oil.

Check if the reservoir is empty before starting the procedure.

Place a container under the reservoir to catch the old oil.

Open the drain plug and allow the old oil to completely drain out.

Measure one pint of Light Refrigeration Oil.

Select the oil type based on temperature conditions

Verify the oil quantity for each size

Drain the old oil from the Viking gear reducer

Refill with new lubricant to the proper level

Is the oil filled to the proper level for the selected size?
