Loosen the two set screws in the outer face of the bearing housing

Rotate the bearing housing clockwise until it cannot be turned anymore

Make a mark on the outside diameter of the bearing housing and a corresponding mark on the pump bracket

Make another mark on the pump bracket as per 'Table 4' on page 14

Rotate the bearing housing counter clockwise until the mark on the outside diameter of the bearing housing lines up with the second mark on the pump bracket

Check end clearance with feeler gauge between idler and rotor faces, if possible

Remove any visible debris from the pump exterior

Was the pump exterior wiped down with a clean cloth?

Clean the pump casing thoroughly

Inspect and clean grease fittings

Is the pump free from dirt and grease?

Check that all parts are clean and in place

Ensure the pump is turned off and isolated from the power supply

Gather necessary tools and materials, including Light Refrigeration Oil and a container for old oil

Check if the reservoir is empty before draining

Place a container under the reservoir to catch old oil

Open the drain plug and allow the oil to completely drain out

Measure one pint of Light Refrigeration Oil

Select the oil type based on temperature conditions

Verify the oil quantity for each Viking reducer size

Drain the old oil from the Viking reducer

Refill with new lubricant to the proper level

Is the oil filled to the proper level for the selected size?

Apply multi-purpose grease, NLGI # 2, to all lubrication fittings using a hand gun

Record any specific lubrication questions for Viking Pump® representative

Refer to Engineering Service Bulletin ESB-515 for standard grease thickener types

Is the grease compatible with the pump's requirements?
