Remove valve cap covering the adjusting screw

Loosen locknut on the adjusting screw

Install a pressure gauge in the discharge line

Adjust the pressure setting by turning the adjusting screw

Close the discharge line beyond the pressure gauge

Limit the operation time to prevent rapid temperature rise

Record the maximum pressure shown on the gauge

Tighten the locknut and replace the cap gasket and valve cap

Ensure pump, drive, and motor were properly aligned during assembly

Recheck alignment after pump unit installation

Check pump ports for proper position

Shim or move the pump as required

Ensure piping is not forced to line up with ports

Flexible Coupling Alignment Check

Remove any coupling guards or covers

Check alignment of coupling halves using a straightedge

Make initial packing adjustments carefully

Ensure packing gland is not over-tightened

Determine need for packing gland adjustment or replacement

Contact Viking Pump® representative for Engineering Service Bulletin ESB-521 regarding repacking pump

Wipe down the exterior of the pump to remove surface dirt and grime

Inspect for any visible grease fittings covered in dirt

Clean around grease fittings to ensure they are free from dirt

Is the pump free from any visible dirt or grease?

Inspect the pump for any signs of wear or damage

Note any areas that require further inspection or repair

Apply multi-purpose grease, NLGI # 2, to all lubrication fittings using a hand gun

Record any lubrication issues or observations

Grease O-Pro™ seals with a lubricating fluid compatible with the process fluid

Record any issues or observations with O-Pro™ seals lubrication
