Clean the return line strainers

Change the fluid filter elements

Verify all components are reassembled correctly

Note any issues encountered during maintenance

Release all pressure from the system

Remove the four capscrews securing the filter head to the canister

Pull the canister away from the filter head

Separate the element from the filter head

Loosen the body from the bowl and unscrew the two assemblies.

Unscrew the baffle holding the filter element in place.

Remove the element, louver, and o-ring.

Discard the old o-ring and element.

Replace the o-ring on the louver and reinsert into the body.

Insert the new filter element and baffle, then tighten.

Ensure all pressure has been relieved in the compressor sump and all downstream pressure has been vented to the atmosphere.

Ensure that the components of the compressor are cool to the touch.

Unscrew the minimum pressure/check valve from the receiver cover.

Remove round retaining cover from the main body.

Remove the flat washer and heavy spring from the main body.

Tap the piston assembly from the bottom of the main body and remove.

Loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until the inner spring tension is relieved.

Remove the spring housing from the body to allow access to internal parts.

Remove the spring button and the spring, leaving the dampener inside the spring.

Remove the gasket stop and brass gasket.

Remove the pressure plate nut and disassemble the pressure plate, diaphragm, diaphragm gasket, seat disc, and seat gasket.

Remove and discard the seat ring.

Reassemble the diaphragm, pressure plate, gasket, seat disc, and seat disc gasket and tighten the nut.
