Control System Adjustment

Check mark

Refer to Figure 6-4. Prior to adjusting the Control System, it is necessary to determine the desired operating vacuum range.

Check mark

The following explanation applies to a typical installation with a desired operating vacuum of 20 in-Hg. (508mm). This information will apply to a vacuum unit with any other operating vacuum except for the stated vacuum.

Check mark

The vacuum regulator should be adjusted for the vacuum at which modulation of gas delivery should begin. In this case, the vacuum will be 20 in-Hg. (508mm).

Check mark

The regulator is adjusted by loosening the jam nut on the end of the cone shaped spring cover of the vacuum regulator.

Check mark

When the jam nut is loose, turn the adjusting screw clockwise to increase or counterclockwise to decrease the setting.

Check mark

Above 20 in-Hg. (508mm), the regulator will allow atmospheric pressure to flow into the control chamber of the Sullicon Control.

Check mark

At this time, the Sullicon Control lever should start to move.

Check mark

If the vacuum unit is equipped with the optional dual control, the vacuum switch contacts should open at 23 in-Hg. (584mm) and reclose at 20 in-Hg. (508mm).
