Clean the return line orifice and strainer

Wheel bearing lubrication is essential to the proper functioning and reliability of your portable compressor axle. Wheel bearings should be lubricated at least once every 12 months, or more frequently to help insure proper performance.

Use wheel bearing grease that conforms to military specification MIL-G-10924 or a high temperature wheel bearing grease such as lithium complex NLGI Consistency #2.

If your axle is equipped with the E-Z Lube feature, the bearings can be periodically lubricated without removing the hubs from the axle.

Remove the rubber plug from the end of the grease cap.

With a standard grease gun filled with a quality wheel bearing grease, place the gun onto the grease zerk located in the end of the spindle. Make sure the grease gun nozzle is fully engaged on the fitting.

Pump grease into the zerk. The old, displaced grease will flow back out of the cap around the grease gun nozzle.

When new, clean grease is observed, remove the grease gun, wipe off any excess, and replace the rubber plug in the cap.

Compressor fluid change procedure

Did you warm-up the compressor for 5 to 10 minutes?

Did you shut the compressor off and relieve all internal pressure?

Did you drain the fluid by opening the appropriate drain valve located in the front of the machine?

Did you close the valve when draining was complete?

Did you change the compressor fluid and replace the fluid filter element?

CAUTION: DO NOT remove caps, plugs and/or other components when compressor is running or pressurized. Stop compressor and relieve all internal pressure before doing so.

Inspect for leaks, loose or missing parts, damaged parts or parts out of adjustment.

Inspect for torn, frayed, blistered or otherwise deteriorated and degraded hoses.

Check the fluid level in the compressor receiver tank.

Drain water from the fuel/water separator.

Check the fuel level in the fuel tank.

Check the engine coolant level.

Observe the instrument panel gauges and be sure they monitor the correct readings for their particular phase of operation.
