Test using the controller’s indicator light

Observe the Ready To Harvest light. Is it ON?

Connect the metal part of the Ice Thickness sensor to the evaporator or touch its metal surface to the metal control box wall

Did the Ready for Harvest light turn ON?

Unplug the ice thickness sensor lead from the controller

Ensure fan pressure control connection is jumped

Put the controller into test mode by depressing Off for 3 seconds then Clean for 3 seconds

Is the Condenser Fan motor indicator light on at the end of the test cycle?

Did the fan motor start and run when the indicator light was on?

Check and record the voltage to the fan motor at the lead connection

Is there full voltage at the fan motor lead connection?

Measure idle voltage at the contactor (compressor off)

Measure active voltage at the contactor (compressor starting)

Is the supply voltage not less than the lowest rated voltage for the ice machine?

Measure PTCR resistance at room temperature (50-100°F)

Is PTCR resistance between 25 and 50 ohms?

Measure resistance to ground from PTCR

Is resistance to ground infinite?

Initial Testing with Indicator Lights

Shut unit off by holding the Off button for 3 seconds

Is the Purge Valve indicator light ON?

Voltage Check if Purge Valve Does Not Open

Shut the unit down by holding the Off button for 3 seconds

Unplug the harness connection from the purge valve

Release probes by pushing pins in

Pull down, then lift up to remove probe

Clean all dirt and scale from the housing

Clean entire probe, ensuring circled area is clean
