Check for binding, leakage, and proper operation

Inspect brake components for wear or damage

Is the brake fluid visible in the sight glass?

Ensure sight glass reservoir is in a level position

Check if the sight glass appears dark (indicating sufficient fluid)

Adding Brake Fluid (if necessary)

Turn ignition key to the OFF position

Ensure the track is not rotating

Remove excess ice and snow buildup from the track, track drive sprockets, and the inside of the skid frame

Elevate the snowmobile on a shielded safety stand high enough to use a spring scale

Measure the deflection between the bottom of the wear strip and the inside surface of the track clip

Is the track deflection within the recommended range?

Mechanical Fasteners Inspection

Check nuts, bolts, and fasteners for tightness

Check for fluid leakage and damage

Verify that the front (ski) shock springs are not adjustable

Are the correct amount of threads exposed between the adjuster/nut and the threaded shock housing/body?

General Ski Pressure Adjustment

Is additional ski pressure needed?

Adjust spring tension by rotating the entire spring

Ensure no open flames or sparks are present

Wash hands after handling battery components

Remove negative battery cable first

Remove battery vent tube (standard battery only)
