Belt Tension Measurement
Measure the span length of the drive (in inches)
Calculate the required deflection (in inches)
Lay a straightedge across the top outer surface of the drive belt from pulley to sheave
Apply pressure with a belt tension gauge and record the deflection force reading
Is the deflection force reading within the minimum and maximum values?
Adjust the belt(s) if necessary
For new belts, was the tension initially set to the maximum value plus 33%?

Adjust the spring loaded adjustment screw
Enter the new air pressure reading after adjustment

Measure the span length of the drive
Calculate the required deflection in inches
Measure and Adjust Belt Tension
Lay a straightedge across the top outer surface of the drive belt from pulley to sheave
Apply pressure with a belt tension gauge and record the deflection force reading
Is the deflection force reading within the minimum and maximum values?
Adjust the belt(s) if the deflection force is not within the specified range
For new belts, tension to the maximum value plus 33%
