Pre-maintenance Setup
Ensure the compressor is installed in a clean, well-lighted, and adequately ventilated area.
Ensure sufficient space is provided around the compressor for safe inspection, cleaning, and maintenance.
Oil Level and Quality Check
Record the oil level on the bayonet gauge.
Is the oil level between the high and low marks?
Is the oil discolored or contaminated?
Drain and replace oil if contaminated.
System Drainage
160 Hourly / 1 Monthly Belt Tension Check
Belt Tension Measurement
Measure the span length of the drive (in inches)
Calculate the required deflection (in inches)
Lay a straightedge across the top outer surface of the drive belt from pulley to sheave
Apply pressure with a belt tension gauge and record the deflection force reading
Is the deflection force reading within the minimum and maximum values?
Adjust the belt(s) if the deflection force reading is not within the specified range
New Belt Tension Adjustment
Tension new belts to the maximum value plus 33% (multiply by 1.33)
Initial 100 Hours / 1 Months Oil Change
Pre-Operation Checks
Ensure the following are in place before starting the compressor
Oil Change Procedure
Has the compressor been operated for 100 hours or 1 month?
Replace break-in lubricant with QuinCip lubricant
Consult Quincy Compressor factory for lubricant recommendations if not using QuinCip
Post-Operation Checks
Record the amount of lubricant added
Is the lubricant pour point at least 15°F lower than the minimum expected ambient temperature?
Pressure Switch Adjustment
Preparation
Ensure the compressor is disconnected from the power supply
Verify that all safety precautions from SECTION 5, Stopping For Maintenance, are followed
Pressure Switch Adjustment
Remove the pressure switch cover
Record the current air pressure reading
Is the compressor running?
Adjust the spring loaded adjustment screw
Record the new air pressure reading
