Ensure you have the complete illustrated instructions from Quincy distributor.

Ensure the work area is clean and free of debris.

Shaft Seal Removal - Triple Lip Type Seal

Remove the four bolts and lock washers securing the seal adapter to the suction housing.

Insert two seal adapter retaining bolts into the jack holes and push the seal adapter away from the suction housing.

Use the wear sleeve removal tool to remove the seal wear sleeve.

Is the Differential Pressure Indicator showing a need for replacement?

Is there excessive fluid carryover with normal fluid temperature and level?

Has the compressor been running for 4,000 hours or more?

Has it been a year since the last replacement?

Ensure the compressor is turned off and depressurized before starting the replacement.

Carefully remove the old air/fluid separator element without damaging it.

Inspect the old separator element for any signs of damage or punctures.

Replace gaskets when removing end castings

Soak gaskets in oil to prevent corrosion and ensure a tight seal

Inspect zinc anodes two weeks after initial startup

Determine future inspection intervals based on corrosion rate

Replace zinc anodes when 70% of the zinc volume is consumed

Drain water chambers to protect from freezing temperatures

Record the pressure gauge reading

Record the temperature gauge reading

Are all gauges and indicators showing normal operation?

Check and record the fluid level

Check that the scavenge line fitting at the bottom of the scavenge line cavity is open and clear

Ensure the scavenge line is not plugged

Check Valve Performance Inspection

Inspect the scavenge line check valve for sticking

Is the check valve stuck in the open position?

Is the check valve stuck in the closed position?

Describe any issues found during inspection
