1 Daily Compressor Check
Initial Checks
Check oil level in crankcase
Drain liquid from the air receiver and moisture trap
Cooling System
Turn on cooling water (watercooled units)
Check cooling fan
Compressor Startup
Jog the starter button and check compressor rotation
Start compressor per factory instructions
Initial 50 Hours Belt Tension Check
Measure Span Length and Determine Deflection
Measure the span length of the drive (in inches)
Calculate the required deflection (in inches) by multiplying the span length by 0.016
Measure and Adjust Belt Tension
Lay a straightedge across the top outer surface of the drive belt from pulley to sheave
Apply pressure with a belt tension gauge at the center of the span and record the deflection force reading
Is the deflection force reading within the minimum and maximum values?
Adjust the belt(s) if the deflection force reading is not within the specified range
For new belts, tension to the maximum value plus 33%

Manually operate the pressure relief valves to ensure they are working

Clean the cooling surfaces of the intercooler
Clean the cooling surfaces of the compressor
Leak Inspection
Check the compressor for air leaks
Check the compressed air distribution system for leaks
Oil Inspection
1 Daily Air Tank Draining
Preparation
Disconnect & lockout the compressor from the power source (electric models) or disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug (gas engine models).
Is the compressor stored in a heated area if subjected to freezing temperatures?
Pressure Reduction
Enter the current air pressure in the tank (PSIG).
Is the air pressure in the tank 30 PSIG or less?
Draining Process
Open the drain valve and allow the moisture and air mixture to drain from the tank.
Close the drain valve once the moisture has been completely drained.
Initial 100 Hours / 1 Months Oil Change
Pre-Operation Checks
Ensure the following are in place before starting the compressor
Oil Change Procedure
Replace break-in lubricant after 100 hours of operation or 1 month
Select the lubricant to use
Post-Operation Checks
Is the lubricant level between the high and low marks on the dipstick after operation?
Was the oil level checked frequently during the 100 hour break-in period?
