Check lubricant levels for QT-5, QT-7.5 & QT-10

Check lubricant levels for all other models

Drain drop legs and traps in air distribution system

Perform overall visual inspection of the compressor

Ensure all safety guards are in place

Check for any unusual noise or vibration

Enter lubricant pressure (hot) for QR Models

Inspect compressor equipment for damage during shipment.

If damage is found, describe the damage and actions taken.

Preparation for Moving Equipment

Ensure adequate lifting equipment is available.

Follow good shop practices and safety procedures when moving the unit.

Verification of Equipment Specifications

Read the compressor nameplate to verify the model and size ordered.

Read the motor nameplate to verify volt, phase, and hertz ratings match the power supply.

Measure the span length of the drive (in inches)

Calculate the required deflection (in inches)

Lay a straightedge across the top outer surface of the drive belt from pulley to pulley

Apply pressure with a belt tension gauge and record the deflection force reading

Is the deflection force reading within the minimum and maximum values?

Adjust belt(s) if the deflection force reading is not within the specified range

Recheck the tension of the new belts several times in the first 50 hours of operation

Ensure the compressor is turned off and cooled down

Verify ambient temperature is above -15° F

Is a crankcase heater installed for temperatures under 32° F?

Check that the following items are ready

Drain the existing lubricant from the crankcase

Replace with Quin-Cip (ISO 68) lubricant

Inspect for oil, grease, nicks, or burrs

Clean or replace components if necessary

Ensure components are securely fastened

Check pulley alignment with compressor sheave

Verify drive belt grooves are in line with each other

Ensure compressor crankshaft is parallel to motor or engine drive shaft
