Initial 100 Hours Lubricant Change
Preparation
Ensure the compressor is turned off and cooled down
Verify ambient temperature is above -15° F
Is a crankcase heater installed for temperatures under 32° F?
Lubricant Replacement
Check that the following items are ready
Drain the old lubricant from the crankcase
Replace with Quin-Cip (ISO 68) lubricant
Lubricant Pressure Adjustment
Initial Compressor Inspection
Inspection for Shipping Damage
Inspect compressor equipment for shipping damage
If damage is found, describe the damage and actions taken
Demand an inspection from the carrier if damage is found
Record instructions from the carrier on how to file a claim for shipping damages
Ensure adequate lifting equipment is available
Verify the model and size on the compressor nameplate
Verify motor nameplate volt, phase, and hertz ratings match the power supply
Ensure pressure relief valve nameplate does not exceed system working pressure
Valve Maintenance
Inspection and Cleaning
Inspect valve components
Soak valve assembly in safety solvent
Clean valve plates and reed valves with a stiff bristle brush
Safety Precautions
Was a non-flammable and non-toxic solvent used?
Reassembly and Final Checks
Use new gaskets for reassembly
Check if reed valves are seated perfectly flat against the sealing surface
1 Yearly Air Tank Inspection
Visual Air Tank Inspection
Inspect air tank for visible damage or corrosion
Check that all inspection points are covered
Measure Tank Wall Thickness
Measure tank wall thickness at the top
Measure tank wall thickness at the sides
Measure tank wall thickness at the bottom (lowest point where condensation can accumulate)
Compliance Check
Refer to federal, state, or local codes for mandatory air tank maintenance information
160 Hourly/ 1 Monthly Belt Tension Check
Belt Tension Measurement
Measure the span length of the drive (in inches)
Calculate the required deflection (in inches) by multiplying the span length by 0.016
Lay a straightedge across the top outer surface of the drive belt from pulley to pulley
Apply pressure with a belt tension gauge and record the deflection force reading
Is the deflection force reading within the minimum and maximum values?
Adjust belt(s) if necessary to meet the required tension values
Post-Measurement Actions
Recheck the tension of the new belts several times in the first 50 hours of operation
