Soak valve assembly in safety solvent

Clean valve plates and reed valves with a stiff bristle brush

Ensure no flammable or toxic solvents are used

Handle all parts with care to avoid damage

Use new gaskets during reassembly

Ensure compressor is installed in a secure and upright position

Verify the area is clean, dry, well-lighted, adequately ventilated, and protected from adverse conditions

Ensure sufficient space is provided around the compressor for inspection, cleaning, and maintenance

Confirm understanding of Pre-starting Checklist and Initial Starting & Operating sub-sections

Daily Inspection and Maintenance

Check lubricant level in crankcase

Drain moisture from the air receiver and moisture trap

Ensure all safety guards are in place

Inspect air tank for visible damage or corrosion

Measure tank wall thickness at the lowest point

Measure tank wall thickness at multiple locations

Refer to federal, state, or local codes for mandatory air tank maintenance information

Apply a thin film of lubricant to the gasket surface of the new filter

Spin the filter on the threaded stud until the gasket makes contact with the housing

Tighten the filter an additional 3/4 turn

Ensure the filter is not used if bent or damaged

Select the lubricant used with the filter

Disconnect & lockout the compressor from the power source (electric models) or disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug (gas engine models).

Is the compressor stored in a heated area if subjected to freezing temperatures?

Reduce the air pressure in the tank to 30 PSIG by pulling the pressure relief valve ring.

Slowly open the drain valve to allow the moisture and air mixture to drain from the tank.

Close the drain valve once the moisture has been completely drained.
