Inspect air tank for visible damage or corrosion

Check that all inspection points are covered

Measure tank wall thickness at the top

Measure tank wall thickness at the sides

Measure tank wall thickness at the lowest point where condensation can accumulate

Refer to federal, state, or local codes for mandatory air tank maintenance information

Inspect valve plates and reed valves for damage or wear

Soak the entire valve assembly in a clean safety solvent

Clean valve plates and reed valves with a stiff bristle brush

Ensure reed valves are seated perfectly flat against the sealing surface

Confirm use of non-flammable and non-toxic solvent

Follow safety solvent directions

Place a straightedge against the face of the flywheel, touching its rim at two places

Is the belt running parallel to the straightedge?

Adjust the motor pulley so that the belt runs parallel to the straightedge

Use a wheel puller to move the motor pulley on the shaft

Inspect Equipment for Shipping Damage

Inspect compressor equipment for shipping damage

If damage is found, describe the damage and actions taken

Demand an inspection from the carrier if damage is found

Record instructions from the carrier on how to file a claim for shipping damages

Ensure adequate lifting equipment is available

Follow safety procedures when moving the unit
