Initial 50 Hours Oil Change
Preparation
Ensure the engine is off and cooled down
Gather necessary tools and materials (oil, oil-cruet, etc.)
Oil Draining
Remove vent plug of the bearing frame
Dispose of the exhausted oil following current regulations
Oil Filling
Upset the oil-cruet
Pour oil into the bearing frame through the hole of plug till oil is visible in the oil-filler elbow
Packing Seals Adjustment
Adjustment of Packing Seals Without External Flushing
Loosen the stuffing box nuts to allow a strong drip to escape
Verify the extent of the leak (drops per minute)
Tighten the stuffing box nuts progressively until the leak is reduced to a controlled drip
Wait a few minutes and verify the stabilized leak rate (drops per minute)
Is the leak rate within the acceptable range (60-200 drops per minute)?
Measure the temperature of the liquid that comes out
Is the temperature at least 10°C lower than the boiling temperature and below 90°C?
Is the dripping insufficient (high temperature)?

Remove loose materials from piping
Remove foreign particles from reservoirs
Post-Welding Cleaning
Pay particular attention to cleaning welded piping
Ensure components welded are free from debris
Pump And Motor Removal
!DANGER: Danger due to collision, crushing or harm.
Pre-removal Safety Measures
Wait for the complete pump stopping before handling the unit.
Drain the pump or close the pipes by means of a valve to prevent sudden rotation.
Wait for the pump to cool down to avoid contact with high temperature surfaces.
Ensure maintenance is carried out when the pump is at a standstill.
Disconnect the power supply and any other connections.
Ensure power supply is restored only by the operator performing maintenance.
Ensure presence of at least two operators and inform the foreman of maintenance in progress.
Pressure Test
!DANGER: Danger due to fluids in pressure. Carry out sealing tests provided with apposite protective devices.
