Turn off power to the Model 580

Disconnect the line cord from the Model 580

Remove all test leads from the terminals of the Model 580

Remove the four screws from the bottom of the case

Unplug the line cord and remove all test leads from the Model 580 terminals

Remove the top cover as explained in paragraph 1.2

Is the Model 5802 IEEE-488 Interface installed?

Remove the IEEE-488 Interface by lifting the board until it disengages from the connector and support post

Replace the blown fuse with '/, A, 250V, 3AG, Slo-Blo (Keithley Part Number FU-20)

Is the new fuse of the correct type and rating?

Ensure the following conditions are met before starting calibration

Connect calibration resistor to the Model 580 as shown in Figure 3-2

Press SHIFT and REL simultaneously and hold until 'CAL' appears in the numeric field of the display, then release

Ensure the following ranges are calibrated in non-Dry Circuit Test before Dry Circuit Test ranges

Apply a known resistance to the first range to be calibrated (e.g., apply 190m to the 200m range)

Adjust the display to read the exact resistance value applied by pressing POLARITY to decrease or TRIG to increase the reading

Calibrate the next range using the same method
