Line Fuse Replacement
Preparation
Unplug the line cord and remove all test leads from the Model 580 terminals
Remove the top cover as explained in paragraph 1.2
IEEE-488 Interface Removal
Is the Model 5802 IEEE-488 Interface installed?
Remove the IEEE-488 Interface if installed
Fuse Replacement
Replace the blown fuse with '/, A, 250V, 3AG, Slo-Blo (Keithley Part Number FU-20)
Is the replacement fuse of the correct type and rating?
Top Cover Removal
Preparation
Turn off power to the Model 580
Disconnect the line cord from the Model 580
Remove all test leads from the terminals of the Model 580
Remove test lead pouch
Top Cover Removal
Turn the unit over
Remove the four screws from the bottom of the case
Turn the unit over again
Front Panel Calibration
Pre-Calibration Checks
Ensure CALIBRATION switch is in the ENABLED position
Verify instrument is in DRIVE (_S-_), POL+, and line frequency is set
Connect calibration resistor to the Model 580
Calibration Procedure
Press SHIFT and REL simultaneously until 'CAL' appears, then release
Apply known resistance to the first range to be calibrated
Adjust display to match resistance value using POLARITY and TRIG
Calibrate next range using the same method
