Belt Drive Maintenance
Initial Inspection
Check for wear, tension, alignment, and dirt accumulation on V-belt drives
Are the sheaves free from grooves or wear?
Belt Replacement
Are all belts being replaced on multiple groove drives?
Loosen belt tension before removing belts
Ensure slack in each belt is on the same side of the drive after replacement
Tension Adjustment
Measure belt deflection halfway between sheave centers (in inches)

Bearing Lubrication

Describe the condition of the purged grease, if visible.

Confirm that building supply voltage matches the voltage for which the unit is wired.
Disconnect and lock-out all power switches to fan.
Check all piping and wiring penetrations for water tightness.
Check all fasteners, set screws and locking collars for tightness.
Rotate the fan wheel by hand to ensure no parts are rubbing and remove any dirt or debris.
Check for bearing alignment and lubrication.
Check the V-belt drive for proper alignment and tension.
Check all guarding for secure attachment and ensure they do not interfere with rotating parts.

Inspection and Rotation
Inspect fan for moisture or dirt accumulations.
Was moisture or dirt found on parts?
Locate and eliminate source of moisture or dirt, if found.
Rotate the fan wheel by hand for 10 to 15 revolutions.

Purge the bearings.
