Fasteners and Setscrews Inspection

Check all fasteners and setscrews for tightness

Does the wheel rotate freely and is it aligned as shown in Figure 7?

Was the wheel position verified for movement during shipment?

Was the centering height alignment accomplished by loosening the set screws and moving the wheel to the desired position?

Inspect bolts, setscrews, and motor mounting bolts

Adjust and tighten as necessary

Loosen tension enough to install belts without stretching

Adjust tension equally in both belts for two groove pulleys

Check pulleys for proper alignment after adjustments

Consequences of misaligned pulleys

Loosen four fasteners on the drive frame

Disconnect all electrical power to the fan and secure to the 'off' position.

Ensure the unit is made non-functional by removing fuses and locking off the disconnect.

Does the motor have grease fittings?

Replace grease in motors with fittings according to manufacturer's recommendations.

Enter the motor temperature in ºF.

Is the motor temperature within the acceptable range (≤104ºF/40ºC)?

Disconnect all electrical power to the fan and secure to the 'off' position

Remove fuses and lock off the disconnect

Inspect the wheel for oil and dust accumulation

Clean the wheel evenly to prevent imbalance

Clean the housing to ensure smooth operation
