Lubrication Frequency Assessment

Select the type of service environment

Ensure the use of a good quality lithium base grease, conforming to NLGI Grade 2 consistency

Is the lubrication process completed successfully?

Check for any unusual conditions

Describe any unusual conditions observed

Disconnect all electrical power to the fan and secure to the 'off' position.

Ensure the unit is made non-functional by removing fuses and locking off the disconnect.

Limit cleaning to exterior surfaces only.

Remove dust buildup on motor housing to ensure proper motor cooling.

Was the cleaning performed evenly to avoid out of balance condition?

Was the maintenance performed by qualified personnel familiar with local codes and regulations?

Ensure motor amperage and voltage ratings are checked for compatibility to supply voltage

Route electrical supply through conduit chase between mounting plate and motor compartment

Ensure wiring conforms to local and national codes

Ensure no bending or distortion of fan parts during lifting

Protect fans with special coatings or paints during handling

Disconnect and secure all electrical power to the fan to the 'off' position.

Fasteners and Setscrews Inspection

Check all fasteners and setscrews for tightness.

Does the wheel rotate freely and is it aligned as shown in Figure 5?

Is wheel position correct after shipment?

Adjust wheel and inlet cone overlap by loosening the setscrews and moving the wheel to the desired position.

Disconnect all electrical power to the fan and secure to the 'off' position.

Ensure the unit is made non-functional by removing fuses and locking off the disconnect.

Check for oil and dust accumulation on the wheel and housing.

Clean the wheel and housing evenly to prevent imbalance.

Is the wheel balanced after cleaning?
