Required maintenance procedures and additional engine information are available in the manufacturer's manuals. Refer to Specifications, Engine Operator and Maintenance Manuals

• Valve clearance - check/adjust

• Bolts, nuts and fasteners - check/tighten

Warning: Start this procedure with the machine in the fully stowed position

Turn the key switch to platform control and pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the on position at both the ground and platform controls

Start the engine from the platform controls (Engine powered models)

Move the yellow bumper at the bottom of the platform 4 inches/10 cm in any direction

Activate each function control handle or toggle switch

Extend the primary boom approximately 3 ft / 1 m

Move the yellow bumper at the bottom of the platform 4 inches/10 cm in any direction

Activate each function control handle or toggle switch

Activate and hold the aircraft protection override switch

Sign off on the daily maintenance

- Grease the Platform Overload Mechanism (if equipped)

Perform this procedure more often if dusty conditions exist

Application of lubrication to the platform overload mechanism is essential to safe machine operation. Continued use of an improperly greased platform overload mechanism could result in the system not sensing an overloaded platform condition and will result in component damage

This maintenance procedure does not apply to the following models: S-80 XC, S-85 XC, SX-125 XC, SX-135 XC, Z-45 XC

1. Locate the grease fittings on each pivot pin of the platform overload assembly

2. Thoroughly pump grease into each grease fitting

Chevron Ultra-duty grease, EP NLGI 1 (lithium based) or equivalent;

Warning: This procedure must be performed by personnel competent in cable/wire rope inspection.

Note: Additional or more frequent inspections may be required due to hostile or corrosive environmental conditions, boom overload, shock load, electrical arcing, or extended periods of disuse.

Inspect and adjust the Boom Extend/Retract Cables. Are they in good condition?

Inspect for foreign objects, damage and/or improper adjustment of the boom extend/retract cables and related components. Any issues found?

Check the boom extend and retract functions. Do they operate smoothly and free of hesitation, jerking and unusual noise?
