3 Monthly Drive Speed Test
- Test the Drive Speed - Stowed Position
Note: Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm, level surface that is free of obstructions
Note: Perform this procedure with the machine in the stowed position
1. Create start and finish lines by marking two lines on the ground 40 feet / 12.2 m apart
2. Choose a point on the machine (i.e., contact patch of a tire) as a visual reference for use when crossing the start and finish lines
3. Bring the machine to top drive speed before reaching the start line. Begin timing when your reference point on the machine crosses the start line
4. Continue at full speed and note the time when the machine reference point crosses the finish line. Refer to Specifications, Drive Speed Specifications
- Test the Drive Speed - Raised or Extended Position
1. Create start and finish lines by marking two lines on the ground 40 feet / 12.2 m apart
3 Monthly Boom Lift Maintenance
- Check for Open Bulletins and Owner Registration
1. Locate the serial number plate or label on your machine and document your Genie machine serial number (exactly as its displayed on the serial plate or label)
2. Confirm that Genie has the current machine owner information on file by contacting our warranty department at 1-800-536-1800 or use the link included in this procedure to download and complete a New Owner Registration Form
3. Using the link provided, check for current bulletins for your machine(s);
50 Hourly Track Tension and Fastener Torque Check
Track assembly cleaned of any dirt, rocks, clay, etc.
Tracks chocked at one end of the machine to prevent rolling
Lifting jack of ample capacity (20,000 Ibs / 10,000 kg) centered under the drive chassis between the tracks
Machine lifted until the tracks are off the ground and jack stands placed under the drive chassis for support
Visual inspection of the section of track under the bogey wheels performed
Gap between the bogey wheels and the inside surface of the track
Tensioner jam nut and idler axle bolts on both sides of the tensioner wheel loosened and tensioner nut tightened until there is between 0.75 - 1 inch / 1.9 - 2.5 cm of gap
NOTICE! Component damage hazard. Do not over tighten the track. Over tightening the track will cause the machine to lose power during operation
Jam nut tightened
3 Monthly Calibration Decal Inspection
This maintenance procedure applies to the following models: S-100, S-105, S-120, S-125, S-100HD, S-120HD, SX-105 XC, SX-125 XC, SX-135 XC, SX-150, SX-180, Z-80/60, Z-135/70 and ZX-135/70
Turn the key switch to the off position and push in the red Emergency Stop button to the off position at the ground controls
Open the turntable cover on the ground controls side of the machine
Open the ground control box
Verify the ground control panel is equipped with the required calibration decal
Condition of the calibration decal
Note: Contact your authorized Genie distributor or Genie if a replacement is required
Sign off on the calibration decal inspection
3 Monthly Ground Control Override Test
- Test the Ground Control Override
A properly functioning ground control override is essential to safe machine operation. The ground control override function is intended to allow ground personnel to operate the machine from the ground controls whether or not the Emergency Stop button on the platform controls is in the on or off position
This function is particularly useful if the operator at the platform controls cannot return the boom to the stowed position
1. Push in the platform red Emergency Stop button to the off position
2. Turn the key switch to ground controls
3. Pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the on position at the ground controls
4. From the ground controls, operate each boom function through a partial cycle
• Result: All boom functions should operate
5. From the platform, activate the foot switch and operate each boom function
