2000 Hourly Engine Maintenance
- Perform Engine Maintenance
Required maintenance procedures and additional engine information are available in the manufacturer's manuals. Refer to Specifications, Engine Operator and Maintenance Manuals
Cummins Models:
• Cooling system - flush
• Valve clearance - check/adjust
GM .998L:
• Spark plug wires - replace
• Timing belt - replace
• Bolts, nuts and fasteners - check/tighten
2000 Hourly Hydraulic Oil Maintenance
Warning: This maintenance check requires trained personnel with PPE!
Hydraulic oil test passed?
If hydraulic oil test fails, proceed to replace the hydraulic oil.
Replacing the hydraulic oil
Steps to replace hydraulic oil
Note: When replacing the hydraulic oil, it is recommended that the hydraulic tank be cleaned using a mild solvent and all hydraulic filters and strainers be replaced.
Note: Always use pipe thread sealant when installing the suction hose fittings and the drain plug.
Note: After the oil has been replaced, continue the scheduled quarterly maintenance inspection.

2000 Hourly Boom Wear Pads Check
- Check the Boom Wear Pads
Maintaining the boom wear pads in good condition is essential to safe machine operation. Wear pads are placed on boom tube surfaces to provide a low friction, replaceable wear pad between moving parts. Improperly shimmed wear pads or continued use of extremely worn wear pads may result in component damage and unsafe operating conditions
1. Measure each wear pad. Replace the wear pad once it reaches the minimum allowable thickness. If the wear pad is still within specification, shim as necessary to obtain minimum clearance with zero binding
2. Extend and retract the boom through the entire range of motion to check for tight spots that may cause binding or scraping of the boom
Note: Always maintain squareness between the outer and inner boom tubes
SX-150 / SX-180;
3. Grease the platform end bottom wear pads with a suitable lubricant
SX-150: Grease the #1 and #2 boom tubes
SX-180: Grease the #0 and #1 boom tubes
12 Yearly Boom Extend/Retract Cables Maintenance
Warning: This procedure must be performed by personnel competent in cable/wire rope inspection.
Note: If cables pass inspection and are not replaced, they must be inspected every 3 years until all boom cables have been replaced.
Note: Additional or more frequent inspections may be required due to hostile or corrosive environmental conditions, boom overload, shock load, electrical arcing, or extended periods of disuse.
The boom extend and retract cables are responsible for the extension and retraction of the boom tubes. Inspection and replacement of these cables, when required, is essential to good machine performance and safe operation.
The boom extend and retract functions should operate smoothly and be free of hesitation, jerking, and unusual noise.
Remove the boom extend and retract cables.
Inspect the sheaves for broken or damaged sheaves, unusual or excessive wear, all fasteners in place and secure, secure bearings, and excessive wear in bearings.
Inspect the cables for frayed or broken wire strands, kinks or crushed cables, corrosion, paint or foreign materials on the cable, and split or cracked cable ends.
Number of broken wires in one rope lay.
