Is the lubricant Mobil DTE heavy/medium or equivalent?
Clean the vent plug [6521]
Remove the vent plug [6521]
Pour oil into the housing
Bearing Housing Oil Level Check
6.1 Maintenance schedule
Record the bearing lubricant level
Enter the remaining hours before a lubricant change is required
Is the oil level within the circumference of the center hole of the sight glass?
Is oil visible in the constant level oiler bottle at all times?
Check and fill the oil level when the pump is not operating

6.8 Examination of parts
Ensure all parts are thoroughly cleaned and inspected
Use new bearings, O-rings, gaskets, and lip seals
Replace any parts showing wear or corrosion with new genuine Flowserve parts
Measure shaft runout and ensure it is 0.025 mm (0.001 in.) FIM or less
Check radial deflection — static and ensure movement is not more than 0.05 mm (0.002 in.)
Verify axial shaft movement (endplay) on a Durco pump is 0.03 mm (0.001 in.) or less
Ensure seal chamber face squareness run-out is less than 0.08 mm (0.003 in.)
Check seal chamber register concentricity is less than 0.13 mm (0.005 in.)
Coupling Alignment Check
6.1 Maintenance schedule / 4.8 Final shaft alignment check
Check coupling alignment and re-align if necessary.
Operate the pump for at least an hour or until it reaches final operating temperature.
Shut the pump down and recheck alignment while the pump is hot.
Did piping thermal expansion change the alignment?
Realign pump as necessary.
Measure parallel misalignment (should be no more than 0.05 mm or 0.002 in.).
Measure angular misalignment (should be no more than 0.0005 mm/mm or 0.0005 in./in.).
Place an indicator on the coupling, reading in the vertical direction, and measure movement when any driver fastener is loosened (should not indicate more than 0.05 mm or 0.002 in.).
