Check for loose fastenings, worn belts, or loose connections

Ensure fan and exhaust guards are correctly positioned and secure

Wipe clean all filler caps before servicing or topping up fluids

Check for any type of leak and clean away fluid

Remove accumulated grease and oil from the engine

Ensure coolant pipes are fitted correctly and secure

Check the engine oil level and replenish as necessary

Ensure that the engine is stopped before any servicing or repair is performed

Ensure that the area around the cap on the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank is clean

Press the tabs to release the filter screen from DEF tank neck adapter

Remove the filter screen from DEF tank neck adapter

Test the DEF quality in the tank with a refractometer

Does the DEF meet ISO 22241-1 requirements?

Is it necessary to drain the tank?

Drain the tank if necessary and fill with DEF that meets ISO 22241-1

Pre-storage Engine and Exhaust Preparation

Allow 2 minutes after the engine has stopped before using the battery disconnect switch

Cap the exhaust outlet of the aftertreatment to prevent damage

Fill the tank with DEF that meets ISO 22241-1 requirements

Reconnect all DEF lines and electrical connections to prevent DEF crystals from forming

Ensure the DEF filler cap is correctly installed

Repeat all daily pre-start checks

Check all control system safety devices by electrically simulating faults

Tighten all exhaust connections

Tighten all electrical connections

Start the engine and observe the instrument panel to ensure that all gauges and meters are operating properly

Maintenance intervals for the engine may be more frequent than those shown — consult your local dealer for maintenance guidelines specific to your engine

These procedures should only be carried out by a qualified technician
