Ensure the following items are available

Is the motor stationary and warm?

Locate the grease inlets on each end of the motor

Clean the area around the grease inlets

Replace the pipe plug with a grease fitting

Remove the grease drain plug and loosen any hardened grease

Add the recommended volume of grease using a hand operated grease gun

Ensure there is no power to the system and the pump is off

Drain the fluid reservoir using the drain valve

Drain the vacuum pump using the drain valve

Drain the heat exchanger using the drain valve

Charging the System with New Fluid

Ensure the system is at operating temperature before changing fluid

Fill the pump with oil to the shaft centerline level

Identify the pump type and HP range

Does the pump require lubrication every 1500 hours?

Does the pump require lubrication every 3000 hours?

Does the pump require factory consultation for lubrication?

Locate grease fittings on the top of each bearing housing

Use high temperature lithium based grease of #2 consistency

Inspection of Mechanical Shaft Seal

Is there any visible leakage from the mechanical shaft seal?

Measure the leakage rate (drops per minute) from the mechanical shaft seal.

Determine the type of leakage observed

Is the leakage rate more than one drop per minute?

Describe any abrasive particles observed in the pump suction.

Consult factory for assistance if seal replacement is needed.

Enter the back-pressure on separator element

Is the back-pressure on separator element within 4 psig?

Change separator element if back-pressure exceeds 4 psig

Discharge Pipe System Inspection

Check discharge pipe system for blockage

Inlet Filter Element Maintenance

Clean or replace inlet filter element if excessive pressure drop is noticed
