500 Hourly Raw Water Pump Impeller Replacement
Impeller Replacement Steps
Change the sea water pump impeller as needed.
Remove the pump end cover.
Remove impeller with water pump pliers.
Ensure all pieces of a failed impeller are removed.
Clean the inside of the housing.
Press in the new impeller.
Place the sealing washer in the outer end of the impeller center if not already done.
Replace the cover using a new gasket.
1 Daily Cooling Water Level Check
CAUTION: High Temperature Warning
Coolant Level Check
Check the coolant level each day before starting the engine.
Remove the pressure cap from the expansion tank and check water level.
Ensure coolant level is about 1 3/4 in. (4-5 cm) below the filler cap sealing surface when the engine is cold.
Coolant System Venting
Open the venting cock on top of the turbocharger to ensure no air pockets form in the cooling system.
Pressure Cap Check
Check the pressure valve in the filler cap releases at approximately 7 PSI (0.5 bar) using a cap pressure tester.
Initial 100 Hourly Engine Oil Replacement
Preparation
Ensure engine is turned off and cooled down
Gather necessary tools and materials (drain hose, suitable container, recommended oil)
Draining Old Oil
Remove plug from outlet in base frame
Screw in owner-supplied drain hose
Open valve at oil pan outlet
Drain oil into suitable container
Close valve after oil has been drained
500 Hourly Injectors Check
Injector Removal
Ensure all special tools are available
Remove dirt from cylinder head around fuel injection nozzles using compressed air
Plug the bore in the cylinder head after each fuel injection nozzle removal
Cap fuel line openings as soon as they are disconnected
Fit protective caps over nozzle tips and line connections
Ensure fuel delivery lines are not bent
Hold male union of nozzle line stationary with a backup wrench when loosening fuel pressure lines
Loosen nuts to remove leak-off lines and T-fittings
2000 Hourly Fuel Injection Pump Check

Check for possible causes of black smoke
Pump Settings Check
Check pump settings, maximum speed, idle speed, and exhaust smoke with dealer
Service Conditions
Is there an indication of pump malfunction?
Repair Restrictions
Ensure repairs involving disassembly are done by specially-trained mechanics
