Ensure the following special tools are available

Remove rocker arm cover with ventilator tube

Remove plastic plugs in engine timing holes on front side of flywheel

Rotate flywheel in clockwise direction with the Flywheel Turning Tool until the Timing Pin engages timing hole in the flywheel

Are both rocker arms for No. 1 cylinder loose at Top Dead Center?

If not, remove the timing pin and rotate the flywheel one complete turn and reinstall the timing pin in the flywheel

Ensure the engine is turned off and cooled down

Verify that you have the correct tools and equipment, including a boost gauge

Locate the 1/8" NPT threaded port on the inlet manifold

Remove the plug from the threaded port

Install the boost gauge hose into the threaded port

Record the boost pressure reading from the gauge

Check the oil level using the dipstick

Is the oil level above the 'oo' mark?

Add oil of the same viscosity if needed

Ensure the oil cap is securely fastened

Drain the raw water from heat exchanger

Scrape or steel brush the zinc electrode clean

Is more than 50% of the electrode eroded away?

Ensure all pressure is relieved before disconnecting lines.

Verify all connections are tight and lines, pipes, and hoses are not damaged before applying pressure.

Use a piece of cardboard or wood to search for suspected leaks instead of hands.

Seek immediate medical attention if injured by escaping fuel.

Identify the service performed on the fuel system

Loosen the bleed plug on the fuel filter and operate the primer pump lever until clear fuel escapes.

Tighten the bleed plug after bleeding air from the system.
