Ensure the following items are available

Is the motor stationary and warm?

Locate and prepare grease inlets

Clean the area around the grease inlets

Replace pipe plug with a grease fitting

Remove grease drain plug and loosen hardened grease

Add recommended volume of grease using hand operated grease gun

Identify the pump type and HP range

Does the pump require lubrication every 1500 hours?

Does the pump require lubrication every 3000 hours?

Does the pump require no lubrication?

Does the pump require factory consultation?

Locate grease fittings on the top of each bearing housing

Enter the back-pressure on separator element

Is the back-pressure on separator element less than or equal to 4 psig?

Change separator element if back-pressure exceeds 4 psig

Check discharge pipe system for blockage

Inlet Filter Element Maintenance

Enter the number of hours since last inlet filter maintenance

Is there an excessive pressure drop noticed?

Clean or replace inlet filter element if necessary

Ensure there is no power to the system and the pump is off

Drain the fluid reservoir using the drain valve

Drain the vacuum pump using the drain valve

Drain the heat exchanger using the drain valve

Charging the System with New Fluid

Ensure the system is at operating temperature before changing the fluid

Fill the pump with oil to the shaft centerline level

Is there any visible leakage from the mechanical shaft seal?

Measure the leakage rate from the mechanical shaft seal (drops per minute).

Determine the type of leakage observed.

If weepage is observed, confirm that it is within acceptable limits (less than one drop per minute).

If leakage is observed, describe the condition and any potential causes (e.g., abrasive particles).
